The President of the Constitutional Court of Romania, Mr Marian ENACHE, had a working meeting on Monday 27 March 2023 with the President of the Association of Constitutional Courts using the French language (A.C.C.F.), Mr Mamadou Badio CAMARA, President of the Senegal Constitutional Council, during which they discussed the agenda for the Association’s future activities.
The meeting was also attended by Mr BENKE Károly, First Assistant Magistrate, and Mrs Cristina TITIRIȘCĂ, Assistant Magistrate, on behalf of the Romanian constitutional authority, and by Mrs Caroline PÉTILLON, Secretary General, on behalf Association of Constitutional Courts using the French language.
The President of the Constitutional Court of Romania, Mr Marian Enache, thanked the President of the Association of Constitutional Courts using the French language for having responded to the invitation to attend the event organised for the celebration of the Centenary of the 1923 Constitution and for kindly addressing a message during the solemn Assembly.
The discussions between the parties envisaged the organisation of the future Bureau of the A.C.C.F. in June 2023, which will take place in Lausanne, given the status of the Romanian Constitutional Court as a member and vice-president of the Association.
The President of the Romanian Constitutional Court highlighted Romania’s French-speaking tradition, especially in the field of law and constitutionalism, as part of the legal family of this extraordinary culture.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Association of Constitutional Courts using the French language, Mr Mamadou Badio Camara, was invited to sign in the Book of Honour of the Romanian Constitutional Court.
